(c) 60 west

(d) 45 west

Show Answer

Answer:

Correct Answer: 43. (a)

Solution:

  1. (a) Velocity of swimmer w.r.t. river VSR=20m/s Velocity of river w.r.t. ground VRG=10m/s

VSG=VSR+VRG

sinθ=|VRGVSR|sinθ=1020

sinθ=12θ=30 west

i.e.,to cross the river along the shortest path, swimmer should make his strokes 30 west.
