  1. (b) Given: Mass $M_1=4 kg$ and $M_2=6 kg$.

Acceleration of the system,

$a=\frac{(m_1-m_2) g}{(m_1+m_2)}$ where $m_1>m_2$

$\therefore a=\frac{(6-4) g}{6+4}=\frac{g}{5}$

Here no option is given according to acceleration of COM of the system.
