Nuclear Physics Question 7

Question 7 - 2024 (31 Jan Shift 2)

The mass number of nucleus having radius equal to half of the radius of nucleus with mass number 192 is:

(1) 24

(2) 32

(3) 40

(4) 20

Show Answer

Answer: (1)

Solution:

$R _1=\frac{R _2}{2}$

$R _0\left(A _1\right)^{1 / 3}=\frac{R _0}{2}\left(A _2\right)^{1 /}$

$A _1=\frac{1}{8} A _2$

$A _1=\frac{192}{8}=24$
