Nuclear Physics Question 7
Question 7 - 2024 (31 Jan Shift 2)
The mass number of nucleus having radius equal to half of the radius of nucleus with mass number 192 is:
(1) 24
(2) 32
(3) 40
(4) 20
Show Answer
Answer: (1)
Solution:
$\mathrm{R}{1}=\frac{\mathrm{R}{2}}{2}$
$\mathrm{R}{0}\left(\mathrm{~A}{1}\right)^{1 / 3}=\frac{\mathrm{R}{0}}{2}\left(\mathrm{~A}{2}\right)^{1 /}$
$\mathrm{A}{1}=\frac{1}{8} \mathrm{~A}{2}$
$\mathrm{A}_{1}=\frac{192}{8}=24$
