A galvanometer (G) of $2 \Omega$ resistance is connected in the given circuit. The ratio of charge stored in $C _1$ and $C _2$ is :

(1) $\frac{2}{3}$

(2) $\frac{3}{2}$

Solution:

In steady state

Req $=12 \Omega$

$I=\frac{6}{12}=0.5 A$

P.D across $C _1=3 V$

P.D acoross $C _2=4 V$

$q _1=C _1 V _1=12 \mu C$

$q _2=C _2 V _2=24 \mu C$

$\frac{q _1}{q _2}=\frac{1}{2}$
