Capacitance Question 2

Question 2 - 2024 (01 Feb Shift 2)

A galvanometer (G) of $2 \Omega$ resistance is connected in the given circuit. The ratio of charge stored in $C_{1}$ and $C_{2}$ is :

(1) $\frac{2}{3}$

(2) $\frac{3}{2}$

(3) 1

(4) $\frac{1}{2}$

Show Answer

Answer: (4)

Solution:

In steady state

Req $=12 \Omega$

$\mathrm{I}=\frac{6}{12}=0.5 \mathrm{~A}$

P.D across $\mathrm{C}_{1}=3 \mathrm{~V}$

P.D acoross $\mathrm{C}_{2}=4 \mathrm{~V}$

$\mathrm{q}{1}=\mathrm{C}{1} \mathrm{~V}_{1}=12 \mu \mathrm{C}$

$\mathrm{q}{2}=\mathrm{C}{2} \mathrm{~V}_{2}=24 \mu \mathrm{C}$

$\frac{\mathrm{q}{1}}{\mathrm{q}{2}}=\frac{1}{2}$
