For the reaction $N _2 O _4(g) \rightleftharpoons 2 NO _2(g), K _p=0.492$ atm at $300 K . K _c$ for the reaction at same temperature is ________ $\times 10^{-2}$.

Solution

$K _P=K _C \cdot(RT)^{\Delta n _g}$

$\Delta n _g=1$

$\Rightarrow K _c=\frac{K _P}{RT}=\frac{0.492}{0.082 \times 300}=2 \times 10^{-2}$
