Alternating Current Answer 11

Question 11 - 30 January - Shift 2

In the given circuit, $rms$ value of current $(I _{rms})$ through the resistor $R$ is :

(1) $2 A$

(2) $\frac{1}{2} A$

(3) $20 A$

(4) $2 \sqrt{2} A$

Answer: (1)

Solution:

Formula: Formula

$z=\sqrt{100^{2}+(200-100)^{2}}$

$=100 \sqrt{2} \Omega$

$i _{rms}=\frac{V _{rms}}{z}=\frac{200 \sqrt{2}}{100 \sqrt{2}}$

$=2 A$
