13. In the circuit shown below, the current in the 1Ω resistor is

(a) 1.3A, from P to Q

(b) 0.13A, from Q to P

(c) 0A

(d) 0.13A, from P to Q

Solution:

Applying Kirchhoff’s loop law in loops 1 and 2 in the directions shown in figure we have

6−3(i1+i2)−i2=09−2i1+i2−3i1=0

Solving Eqs. (i) and (ii) we get,

i2=0.13A

Hence, the current in 1Ω resister is 0.13 A from Q to P.
