Data Interpretation Ques 9

Question-

Directions: Study the following description of the paragraph carefully and answer the questions given below.

A land lord has divided his agricultural land into 4 parts $A$, $B$, $C$ and $D$, which yield different crops - rice, wheat, raggi and cotton respectively. He has measured the ratio between the length and breadth of each part of the land as 3:4, 1:2, 3:5 and 2:3 respectively. The price of the yield of the crops is rated at Rs. 200 for rice, Rs. 180 for wheat, Rs. 150 for raggi and Rs. 120 for cotton per square metre.

The length of land $-C$ is 600 metre. What are the average earnings of all the three lands, if the total area of the lands $A$, $C$ and $D$ is in the ratio $3: 2: 1$ ?

(1) Rs. 201000000

(2) Rs. 176800000

(3) Rs. 102000000

(4) Rs. 198000000

(5) Rs. 252000000

Show Answer

Answer: (3)

Solution: (3)

Breadth of land $C$ $=600 \times \frac{5}{3}=1000$ metre

Area $=1000 \times 600$ $=600000$ sq. metre

Total area of land - A $=600000 \times \frac{3}{2}$ $=900000$ sq. metre

Total area of land - D $=300000$ sq. metre

Required avg of total earnings

$\Rightarrow$ Rs. $\frac{100000}{3}(6 \times 150+9 \times 200+3 \times 120)$

$=$ Rs. $\frac{100000}{3}(900+1800+360)$

$=$ Rs. $\frac{100000}{3} \times 3060$

$=$ Rs. 10200000
