Data Interpretation Ques 8

Question-

Directions: Study the following description of the paragraph carefully and answer the questions given below.

A land lord has divided his agricultural land into 4 parts $A$, $B$, $C$ and $D$, which yield different crops - rice, wheat, raggi and cotton respectively. He has measured the ratio between the length and breadth of each part of the land as 3:4, 1:2, 3:5 and 2:3 respectively. The price of the yield of the crops is rated at Rs. 200 for rice, Rs. 180 for wheat, Rs. 150 for raggi and Rs. 120 for cotton per square metre.

The breadth of land - A is 480 metre. What is the approximate sum of the length of all the three lands, $A, B$ and $C$ if the sum of length and breadth of these lands is in the ratio $2: 2: 3$ ?

(1) 1113

(2) 1004

(3) 1335

(4) 1113

(5) 1409

Show Answer

Answer: (1)

Solution: (1)

Length of land - A $=480 \times\left(\frac{3}{4}\right)=360$ metre

length + breadth $=480+360$ $=840$ metre

Length of land - B $=840 \times\left(\frac{2}{2}\right) \times\left(\frac{1}{3}\right)$ $=280$ metre

Length of land - C $=840 \times\left(\frac{3}{2}\right) \times\left(\frac{3}{8}\right)$ $=472.5$ metre

Required sum $=(360+280+472.5)$ metre $=1112.5$ metre $ \approx 1113$ metre
