Question-

Directions: Study the following description of the paragraph carefully and answer the questions given below.

A land lord has divided his agricultural land into 4 parts $A$, $B$, $C$ and $D$, which yield different crops - rice, wheat, raggi and cotton respectively. He has measured the ratio between the length and breadth of each part of the land as 3:4, 1:2, 3:5 and 2:3 respectively. The price of the yield of the crops is rated at Rs. 200 for rice, Rs. 180 for wheat, Rs. 150 for raggi and Rs. 120 for cotton per square metre.

What is the breadth of the total wheat land, when the land lord cultivated only $75 \%$ of the total land and the total earning from the sales of wheat is Rs. 32400 ? (in metre)

Answer: (3)

Solution: (3)

Let $x$ be the total land estimation.

$\therefore\left(\frac{75 x}{100}\right) \times 180=32400$

$\Rightarrow \frac{3 x}{4} \times 180=32400$

$\Rightarrow x=\frac{32400 \times 4}{3 \times 180}$

$\Rightarrow x=240$

$\therefore 2 y^{2}=240 $

$\Rightarrow y^{2}=120$

$\Rightarrow y=11$ metre

$\therefore$ Breadth $=2 y=2 \times 11$ $=22$ metre
