Shortcut Methods

JEE Level

Shortcut Methods and Tricks:

  • Pollen grains: To estimate the number of pollen grains produced by a single flower, multiply the number of anthers by the average number of pollen grains per anther.
  • Pollination: To determine the number of pollen grains required for effective pollination, multiply the number of stigmas in the flower by the number of pollen grains required per stigma.
  • Fertilization: To calculate the percentage of zygotes that develop into seeds, divide the number of seeds produced by the number of zygotes formed and multiply by 100.
  • Germination: To estimate the germination rate of seeds, divide the number of seeds that germinate by the total number of seeds planted and multiply by 100.
