Concept of Charge
1 : Electric Charge
Electric charge is a fundamental property of matter. It can be positive (+) or negative (-). Protons have a positive charge, while electrons have a negative charge.
2 : Conservation of Charge
The total electric charge in a closed system remains constant; charge cannot be created or destroyed, only transferred.
3 : Quantization of Charge
Charge comes in discrete units, with the elementary charge being the charge of a single electron (approximately $$(1.6 \times 10^{-19}) C).$$
