9. The volume occupied by an atom is greater than the volume of the nucleus by a factor of about

Answer:
Correct Answer: 9. (a)
Solution:
(a) $V \propto r^{3} \Rightarrow V _{\text{atom }}=\frac{r _{\text{atom }}^{3}}{r _{\text{nuclers }}^{3}} \times V _{\text{nucleus }}$
But $\frac{r _{\text{nucleus }}}{r _{\text{atom }}}=(\frac{1}{10^{5}})^{3}$
Hence, $V _{\text{atom }}=10^{15} \times V _{\text{nucleus }}$
