Solution:

(a) $F=\frac{d(Mv)}{dt}=M \frac{dv}{dt}+v \frac{dM}{dt}$

$\therefore v$ is constant,

$\therefore F=v \frac{dM}{dt}$ But $\frac{dM}{dt}=Mkg / s$

$\therefore F=vM$ newton.
