  1. (b) At equilibrium potential of both sphere becomes same if charge of sphere one x and other sphere (Qx) then

where Q=4×102C

V1=V2

kx1cm=k(Qx)3cm

3x=Qx4x=Q

x=Q4=4×1024C=1×102

Q=Qx=3×102C

Charge given to a conductor always resides on its outer surface. If surface is uniform the charge distributes uniformly on the surface and for irregular surface the distribution of charge i.e., charge density is not uniform. It is maximum where the radius of curvature is maximum and vice-versa i.e., σ1R.
