(d) The two resistances are connected in series and the resultant is connected in parallel with the third resistance.

$∴ R^{'} = 4 Ω + 4 Ω = 8 Ω$ and $\frac{1}{R^{''}} = \frac{1}{8} + \frac{1}{4} = \frac{3}{8}$

or $R^{''} = \frac{8}{3} Ω$

If three identical resistors each of resistance $R$ are connected in the form of a triangle, the equivalent resistance between the ends of a side is equal to $(\frac{2 R}{3})$ .
