  1. (d) MgCO3MgO+CO2

84g of MgCO3 form 40g of MgO

20g of MgCO3 form 40×2084g of MgO

=9.52g of MgO

Since 8.0g of MgO is formed

Purity of sample =89.52×100=84.0
