Show Answer

Solution:

  1. (a) Only $C_2 H_2$ (acetylene) has acidic $H$-atoms and hence reacts with $NaNH_2$ to form sodium salt, i.e.,

$HC \equiv CH+NaNH_2 \longrightarrow HC \equiv CNa+NH_3$.
