2,3-Dimethyl-2-butene

(a) $(C H_{3})_{2} C H - C H - C H = C H_{2}$ contain 7 carbon atoms $\overset{+}{C} H_{3}$

(b)

$2 R C O O K \to_{Oxidation}^{Electrolytic} \underset{Anode}{2 R C O O^{-}} + \underset{Cathode}{2 K^{+}}$

At anode $2 R C O O^{-} \to 2 R C O O + 2 e^{-} ⟶$

$R - R + 2 C O_{2}$

$\begin{matrix} At Cathode & 2 K^{+} + 2 e^{-} \to 2 K \\ 2 K + H_{2} O \to 2 K O H + H_{2} ↑ \end{matrix}$
