  1. (a) The number of carbon atom found in $\pi$ bonded organometallic compounds is indicated by the greek latter ’ $\eta$ ’ with a number. The prefixes $\eta^{2}, \eta^{5}$ and $\eta^{6}$ indicate that 2, 5 and 6 carbon atom are bound to the metal in the compound. $(CH_3)_4 Sn$ does not involve any pi $(\pi)$ bond formation. $(CH_3)_4 Sn$ is a $\sigma$ bonded organometallic compound.
