Parasites is an organisms that live in or on other living plants and animals and dependent on them for their food. Lichens represent a type of symbiotic association of algae and fungi, in which, both of them dependent on each other for their food and shelter. Mycorrhiza is also a type of symbiotic association of fungi and plant roots, e.g., Cycas coralloid root.
