(a) Jaw apparatus is called Aristotle’s Lantern which is present in the Class Echinoidae of the Phylum Echinodermata. The highly developed jaw apparatus of the sea urchin, named after Aristotle, is the most famous and controversial among the eponymous structures of echinoderms. Jacob Klein, in his Naturalis Dispositio Echinodermatum was the first to specifically refer to it as “Aristotle’s lantern” in 1734.
