Current Electricity Question 10

Question 10 - 2024 (27 Jan Shift 2)

A current of $200 \mu A$ deflects the coil of a moving coil galvanometer through $60^{\circ}$. The current to cause deflection through $\frac{\pi}{10}$ radian is :

(1) $30 \mu A$

(2) $120 \mu A$

(3) $60 \mu A$

(4) $180 \mu A$

Show Answer

Answer: (3)

Solution:

$i \propto \theta$ (angle of deflection)

$\therefore \frac{i _2}{i _1}=\frac{\theta _2}{\theta _1} \Rightarrow \frac{i _2}{200 \mu A}=\frac{\pi / 10}{\pi / 3}=\frac{3}{10}$

$\Rightarrow i _2=60 \mu A$
