Applying the condition of floatation,

Weight $=$ Upthrust

$\begin{aligned} V ρ g & = \frac{V}{2} ρ_{oil} g + \frac{V}{2} ρ_{H g} g \\ ρ & = \frac{ρ_{oil}}{2} + \frac{ρ_{H g}}{2} \\ = \frac{0.8}{2} + \frac{13.6}{2} = 7.2 g / c m^{3} \end{aligned}$

$or ρ = \frac{ρ_{oil}}{2} + \frac{ρ_{H g}}{2}$
