It does not react with $H _2 O, 5 \text{\%} HCl$ and $10 \text{\%} NaHCO _3$. Oleic acid $\left(C _{18} H _{34} O _2\right)$ is soluble in $10 \text{\%} NaOH$ and $10 \text{\%}$ $NaHCO _3$ due to the presence of $COOH$ group. Benzamide $\left(C _6 H _5 CNH _2\right)$ is insoluble in $5 \text{\%} HCl, 10 \text{\%} NaOH$ and $10 \text{\%} NaHCO _3$ due to the presence $-CONH _2$ group. o-toluidine is soluble in $5 \text{\%}$. $HCl$ due to presence of basic group $\left(-NH _2\right)$ attached to ring.
