$\underset{Base}{A l (O H)_{3}} + 3 H C l ⟶ A l C l_{3} + 3 H_{2} O$

$A l (O H)_{3} + N a O H ⟶ N a [A l (O H)_{4}]$

Therefore, both statements are correct and statement II is a correct explanation of statement I.
