Solution:

  1. Compound $A$ of molecular formula $C _9 H _7 O _2 Cl$ exist in keto and predominantly in enolic form $B$. Hence, $A$ must be a carbonyl compound which contain $\alpha-H$. Enolic forms of $B$ predominates because of presence of intramolecular $H$-bonding.
