Work Power Energy Question 7

Question 7 - 2024 (30 Jan Shift 1)

A particle is placed at the point $\mathrm{A}$ of a frictionless track $\mathrm{ABC}$ as shown in figure. It is gently pushed toward right. The speed of the particle when it reaches the point B is : $\left(\right.$ Take $\left.g=10 \mathrm{~m} / \mathrm{s}^{2}\right)$.

(1) $20 \mathrm{~m} / \mathrm{s}$

(2) $\sqrt{10} \mathrm{~m} / \mathrm{s}$

(3) $2 \sqrt{10} \mathrm{~m} / \mathrm{s}$

(4) $10 \mathrm{~m} / \mathrm{s}$

Show Answer

Answer: (2)

Solution:

By COME

$\mathrm{KE}{\mathrm{A}}+\mathrm{U}{\mathrm{A}}=\mathrm{KE}{\mathrm{B}}+\mathrm{U}{\mathrm{B}}$

$0+\operatorname{mg}(1)=\frac{1}{2} \mathrm{mv}^{2}+\mathrm{mg} \times 0.5$

$v=\sqrt{g}=\sqrt{10} \mathrm{~m} / \mathrm{s}$
