Solution:

The question is incomplete, as speed of sound is not given. Let us assume speed of sound as $330 m / s$ . Then, method will be as under.

$\frac{λ}{2} = (63.2 - 30.7) c m or λ = 0.65 m$

$∴$ Speed of sound observed,

$v_{0} = f λ = 512 \times 0.65 = 332.8 m / s$

$∴$ Error in calculating velocity of sound $= 2.8 m / s$

$= 280 c m / s$
