Critical angles at 1 and 2

$\begin{aligned} θ_{C_{1}} = \sin^{- 1} \frac{μ_{1}}{μ_{2}} = \sin^{- 1} \frac{1}{\sqrt{2}} = 45^{\circ} \\ θ_{C_{2}} = \sin^{- 1} \frac{μ_{3}}{μ_{2}} = \sin^{- 1} \frac{\sqrt{3}}{2} = 60^{\circ} \end{aligned}$

Therefore, minimum angle of incidence for total internal reflection to take place on both slabs should be $60^{\circ}$ .
