  1. Unknown resistance ’ X ’ in meter bridge experiment is given by

X=100llR

Case (1) When R=1000Ω and l=60cm, then

X=(10060)60×1000=40×100060

X=20003Ω667Ω

Case (2) When R=100Ω and l=13cm, then

X=1001313×100=100×8713=870013Ω669Ω

Case (3) When R=10Ω and l=1.5cm, then

X=1001.51.5×10=98.51.5×10=985015Ω656Ω

Case (4) When R=1Ω and l=1.0cm, then

X=10011×1X=99Ω

Thus, from the above cases, it can be concluded that, value calculated in case (4) is inconsistent.
