Current Electricity 2 Question 7

7. In the given circuit diagram, the currents I1=0.3A, I4=0.8A and I5=0.4A, are

flowing as shown. The currents I2,I3 and I6 respectively, are

(2019 Main, 10 Jan II)

(a) 1.1A,0.4A,0.4A

(b) 1.1A,0.4A,0.4A

(c) 0.4A,1.1A,0.4A

(d) 0.4A,0.4A,1.1A

Show Answer

Solution:

  1. Given circuit with currents as shown in the figure below, [In the question I1=0.3A is given, due to it we change the direction of I1, in this figure]

From Kirchoff’s junction rule, ΣI=0

At junction S,I4=I5+I30.8=0.4+I3I3=0.4A At junction P,I5=I6I6=0.4A At junction Q,I2=I1+I3+I6=0.3+0.4+0.4=1.1A
