Some Basic Concepts of Chemistry - Result Question 8

####8. The volume strength of 1MH2O2 is

(Molar mass of H2O2=34gmol1 )

(2019 Main, 12 Jan II)

(a) 16.8

(b) 22.4

(c) 11.35

(d) 5.6

Show Answer

Solution:

  1. Concentration of H2O2 is expressed in terms of volume strength, i.e. “volume of O2 liberated by H2O2 at NTP”. Molarity is connected to volume strength as:

Molarity (M)=x11.2 or x= Molarity ×11.2

where, x= volume strength

So, for 1MH2O2,x=1×11.2=11.2

Among the given options, 11.35 is nearest to 11.2.
