- Ethylene absorb $H _2 SO _4$ forming $CH _3-CH _2 OSO _3 H$ and dissolve. Benzene, with warm $H _2 SO _4$, undergo sulphonation and dissolve.
Aniline, with $H _2 SO _4$, forms anilinium sulphate salt and dissolve. Hexane, a hydrophobic molecule, does not react with $H _2 SO _4$, remains insoluble.
