  1. Moles of H2=pVRT=1×10.082×298=0.0409

Bond energy =0.0409×436=17.84kJ Number of H-atoms produced after dissociation

=2×0.0409×6.023×1023=4.93×1022

Transition energy/atom =2.18×1018(114)J

=34×2.18×1018J

Total transition energy

=34×2.18×1018×4.93×1022J =80.60×103J=80.60kJ

Therefore, total energy required

= dissociation energy + transition energy  =(17.84+80.60)kJ=98.44kJ
