Question: Q. 18. Two students $A$ and $B$ were asked to pick a resistor of $15 \mathrm{k} \Omega$ from a collection of carbon resistors. $A$ picked a resistor with bands of colours : brown, green, orange while $B$ choose a resistor with bands of black, green, red. Who picked the correct resistor ? $\mathrm{R}$ [O.D. Comptt. I, II, III 2013]
Show Answer
Solution:
Ans. $A \rightarrow$ brown
$$ B \rightarrow \underset{0}{\text { black }} $$
$$ \begin{array}{cc} \text { green } & \text { orange } \ 5 & 10^{3} \ \text { green } & \text { red } \ 5 & 10^{2} \end{array} $$
$$ =15 \mathrm{k} \Omega $$
$\therefore$ A picked the correct resistor
