Solution:

Let $P_{1} = P$ , $P_{2} = P_{1} + 50$ of $P_{1}$ = $P_{1} + \frac{P_{1}}{2} = \frac{3 P_{1}}{2}$

$E \propto P^{2}$

therefore $\frac{E_{2}}{E_{1}} = {(\frac{P_{2}}{P_{1}})}^{2} = {(\frac{3 P_{1} / 2}{P_{1}})}^{2} = \frac{9}{4}$

therefore $E_{2} = 2.25 E$

$= E_{1} + 1.25 E_{1}$

$E_{2} = E_{1} + 125$ % $of E_{1}$

i.e. kinetic energy will increase by 125%.
