Solution:

Suppose the total volume of water = x
$∴ 100 c m^{3} \times 0.5 N = x \times 0.1 N$
$∴ x = \frac{100 \times 0.5}{0.1} = 500 c m^{3}$ Therefore the volume of water added $= T o t a l volume–100c m^{3}$

$= 500 - 100 = 400 c m^{3}$ .
