Solution: (1)

In 2015-16,

Income of Airtel $=$ Rs. $2 x$ crores

Expenditure of Idea $=$ Rs. $x$ crores

Income of Airtel in 2016-17 $=$ Rs. $\left(2 x \times \frac{117}{100}\right)$ crores Expenditure of Idea $=$ Rs. $\left(x \times \frac{111}{100}\right)$ crores

$\therefore$ Required ratio $=\frac{2 x \times 117}{100}: \frac{x \times 111}{100}$ $=234: 111$
