What is the sum of students who do not participate in dance and play from class VI and IX together?

Students who do not participate in dance and play :

Class VI $\Rightarrow(100-23) \%$ of 500 $=\frac{500 \times 77}{100}=385$

Class IX $\Rightarrow(100-22) \%$ of 250 $=\frac{250 \times 78}{100}=195$

$\therefore$ Required answer $=385+195=580$
