The Ministry of Human Resource Development, MHRD, has recently revealed the NIRF (National Institutional Ranking Framework) Ranking for the top Engineering colleges in the nation. IIT Madras has claimed the top spot, with IIT Delhi and IIT Bombay following in second and third place, respectively. NIRF was established in 2015 to rank higher education institutions in India. In 2016, NIRF categorized universities and colleges into 4 groups. By 2019, the number of categories had expanded to 8, and an overall ranking was introduced. IIT Madras has held the top spot in the overall category since 2016.
