Cracking JEE Advanced

Cracking JEE Advanced

We believe in providing strategic guidance to students preparing for competitive exams. Here, we present a comprehensive strategy for scoring in the JEE Advanced exam.

Step 1: Set a Realistic Target

Your target should be to score only 30-35% marks. This is a realistic and achievable goal that can lead to a good rank.

Step 2: Identify Your Weakest Subject

Among Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics, identify the subject you are weakest in. This will help you strategize your preparation effectively.

Step 3: Identify Your Strong Chapters

Find your strongest 10 chapters in your best 2 subjects and at least 5-6 chapters in your weak subject. These chapters will form the core of your preparation.

Step 4: Focus on Identified Chapters

Concentrate on the identified chapters and do basic theory for the rest. This ensures that you have a strong foundation in your best areas while not neglecting the other topics.

Step 5: Create a Study Schedule

Create a list of the selected chapters, stick it on a wall, and follow a daily routine of completing one chapter and revising it the next week. After the first revision, mark the chapter as completed and revise it again a few days before the exam.

Appendix A: Completing a Strong Chapter

Completing a strong chapter involves knowing all the theories, formulas, and concepts of the chapter thoroughly. It also includes solving the Advanced Climb questions from the Marks app for this chapter and understanding the concepts behind the questions you get wrong. Additionally, solve the JEE Advanced previous year questions (PYQs) from 2015-2022 for the chapter to develop the advanced problem-solving mindset. Keep a notebook with all the questions you did for proper revision.

Appendix B: Handling Weak Chapters

For weak chapters, learn the theories and watch video solutions of the Advanced 2015-2022 questions from these chapters. Remember that you still need to do the theory of weak chapters as an easy question can come from any chapter.

Appendix C: First Revision

The first revision should happen after 1 week of completing a chapter. For strong chapters, quickly review formulas and theories and review the questions you did, especially those you got wrong. For weak chapters, quickly review formulas and theories.

Appendix D: Second and Third Revisions

The second revision should be done before the first full mock test. Revise theories and questions. The third revision should be done in the last 2-3 days before the exam (June 1-3). Focus only on theories for the third revision.

Appendix E: Mock Tests

Manage to take 4-5 full syllabus relevant advanced mock tests. Give full tests from May 25th to June 1st. Identify and work on the mistakes you made in the tests.

Additional Notes

Believe in yourself and your hard work. Stay confident till the exam day, and you’ll succeed. Eat healthy and get enough sleep (8 hours) between 10 PM-6 AM or 12 AM-8 AM. Avoid staying awake past midnight.
