CMAT Selection Procedure 2024

CMAT counselling 2024 will be conducted by participating institutes such as IFMR, SIMSREE, BIMS, PUMBA, Welingkar, GIM, and others. According to the CMAT admission process 2024, candidates must follow the selection procedure of the specific institute accepting CMAT scores, which may include Group Discussion (GD) and Personal Interview (PI). The final selection of candidates will be based on their performance in the GD and PI rounds.

CMAT 2024 Selection Criteria/ Phases

• CMAT 2024 Result: The CMAT results will be declared in the month of May and the mark cards will be published on the official website.
• CMAT Merit List 2024: The merit list is prepared based on the CMAT 2024 marks of students.
• Group Discussion: Eligible candidates should visit their respective institutes where they have applied for the CMAT exam procedure 2024. Multiple rounds of exams will be held on the premises of the concerned institution. Every college conducts a GD round during its examination process.
• PI & WAT: These rounds are conducted for candidates who clear the Group Discussion round.

CMAT Counselling 2024: Appearing in CMAT exam

To apply to their preferred B-school, candidates must meet the CMAT cutoff criteria set by the respective MBA college. Group Discussion (GD)

During the GD round, shortlisted candidates will be given a topic to discuss, which will be based on current affairs or business situations. They will be grouped into 10 or more students and assigned a group topic. The GD round will assess various skills such as negotiation, encouragement, creative and logical thinking, real-life scenarios, closure, leadership, managerial skills, and initiation.

Personal Interview (PI)

The PI round, also known as the Written Ability Test (WAT), will be conducted for the shortlisted candidates. This round will further evaluate the candidates’ communication skills, knowledge, and ability to express themselves in writing.

CMAT Selection Process 2024: Final Selection List

The selection process for CMAT 2024 includes a group discussion, personal interview, and written ability test. Students who qualify for the group discussion will be called for either a personal interview or written ability test, or both.

During the personal interview round, students will have to appear in person for a face-to-face interaction with the interviewer. They will be assessed based on their ability to explain past academic records, personality, prior work experience, confidence, creativity, and innovation.

Candidates appearing for a personal interview should prepare themselves with questions like “What are your strengths and weaknesses” and “Self-introduction”. The interviewee may also assess the candidate’s capability to handle pressure and managerial skills by asking interlinked questions. It is important for the candidate to justify their statements and answer smartly.

In addition to the personal interview, some institutes may conduct a written ability test (WAT). In this round, students will be given a topic to present their opinion on, which will be used to analyze their writing skills. It is advised for students to read the newspaper on a daily basis to prepare for this round.

The final merit list for CMAT 2024 will be prepared by the participating institutes based on the candidate’s cumulative performance. The list will include the names of candidates who have cleared all the selection criteria. Some institutes will notify the candidates of their status through email or call letters.
