Benchmark indices Sensex and Nifty pulled back from record highs but managed to close in the positive territory on June 13. Nifty 50 and Sensex hit an intraday high of 23,481 and Sensex rose to a record 77,145.

At close, the Sensex was up 204 points or 0.3 percent at 76,810 and the Nifty 50 was up 77 points at 23,399.

The GIFT Nifty is trading 22 points lower on June 14, compared to the Nifty 50 close, indicating a flat to negative start for the day. Nifty futures were trading at 23393 at 07:00 am IST.

The S&P 500 and Nasdaq registered record closing highs for a fourth session in a row on Thursday as technology shares extended their recent rally.

The number of Americans filing new claims for unemployment benefits increased last week and another report showed producer prices unexpectedly fell in May, helping to keep alive hopes that an interest rate cut by the Federal Reserve may be on the horizon.

The Fed on Wednesday projected only one rate cut this year, while its outlook in March included three quarter-percentage-point reductions.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 65.11 points, or 0.17%, to 38,647.1, the S&P 500 gained 12.71 points, or 0.23%, at 5,433.74 and the Nasdaq Composite rose 59.12 points, or 0.34%, to 17,667.56.

The US 10-year Treasury yields were trading higher by 32 bps at 4.25 percent, while US 2 year bond yields also gained 31 bps at 4.71 percent.

The dollar index were trading flat on Friday ahead of a policy decision from the Bank of Japan.

Asian currencies were trading mostly lower on Friday against a dollar, while on year-to-date basis the currencies fell between 2-10 percent.

Oil prices fell on Friday but were on track for their first weekly gain in four weeks as markets assessed the impact of higher-for-longer U.S. interest rates versus solid outlooks for crude and fuel demand this year.

LME commodity slipped in the early trade on on Friday, with Nickel down more than 2 percent, while Copper and Zinc prices were down more than 1 percent each.

The Foreign institutional investors (FIIs) sold equities worth Rs 3,033 crore on June 13, while domestic institutional investors also sold equities worth Rs 553 crore on same day.
