Solution:

$T r = \frac{m r^{2}}{2} α_{1} ..(1)$

$Tr = \frac{m r^{2}}{2} α …(2)$

$α_{1} = α .. (3)$

Acceleration of point $b =$ acceleration of point $a$

$r α_{1} = a_{c m} - r α Hence, 2 r α = a_{c m} ….(4)$
