$ \Delta U=\frac{1}{2}\frac{C _{1}C _{2}{{(V _{2}-V _{1})}^{2}}}{(C _{1}+C _{2})} $

$ =\frac{(3\times 5)\times {{10}^{-12}}\times {{(500-300)}^{2}}}{(3+5)\times {{10}^{-6}}} $

$ =\frac{15\times {{10}^{-12}}\times 4\times 10^{4}}{8\times {{10}^{-6}}}=0.0375J $
