Solution:

$Z = \sqrt{{(R)}^{2} + {(X_{L} - X_{C})}^{2};}$

$R = 10, Ω, X_{L} = ω L = 2000 \times 5 \times 10^{- 3} = 10, Ω$

$X_{C} = \frac{1}{ω C} = \frac{1}{2000 \times 50 \times 10^{- 6}} = 10, Ω i . e ., Z = 10, Ω$

Maximum current $i_{0} = \frac{V_{0}}{Z} = \frac{20}{10} = 2 A$

Hence $i_{r m s} = \frac{2}{\sqrt{2}} = 1.4, A$ and $V_{r m s} = 4 \times 1.41 =,$ 5.64 V
