- For small angles of incidence and small angles of deviation in a prism, you can approximate the angle of deviation δ as: $$(\delta \approx A(\mu - 1)),$$ where (A) is the angle of the prism and μ is the refractive index of the material.
- This is useful when the angles are small, and you want a quick estimate of the deviation.
